II.     APPROVAL OF MINUTES - October 2017-Draft

III.    PUBLIC HEARINGS 

         1.  VAFD 2017:06 - Application by Michael and Rebecca Drake, Claude Drake, Jr. and Alma Drake, Westley Drake, Glenn and Lynda Updike, and John Lee Updike, owners, for the creation of a Voluntary Agriculture and Forestal District.  The properties are in the Newsoms Voting and Magisterial Districts.

  • Tract A- Tax Parcels 102-22, 102-21A,  101-63A, and 101-64.  The property contains approximately 649 acres and is located on the west side of Statesville Road north and south of Cross Keys Road.

        2.   RZA 2017:05- Application by William T. Edwards, Jr., owner, for a zoning map amendment from B-1, Local Business District, to CB-2, Conditional General Business District to construct a mini-storage facility as defined in Sec. 18-222(42) of the Southampton County Code.  The property is knows as Tax Parcel 88-37C and is located on the north side of General Thomas Highway (Hwy 671) approximately 494 feet west of its intersection with Drake Road, immediately west of the Town of Newsoms.  The property contains approximately 1.225 acres and is in the Newsoms Voting and Magisterial Districts.

        VAFD 2017:07- Application by Hunter Darden, Jr., Hunter Darden III, Patricia Falls, Lawrence Brown, Francis Widmeyer, and Ernest and Rita Beltrami, Jr., owners, for the creation of a Voluntary Agriculture and Forestal District.  The properties are in the Newsoms Voting and Magisterial Districts.  
         

  • Core Tract-  Tax Parcels 106-1, 106-2, 106-2A, 106-3, 106-4, 106-5, 106-6, 106-41, 106-42, 106-38A, 105-18, generally located west of Smiths Ferry Road and north of Schoolhouse Road.

  • Delaware Road Tract- Tax Parcels 105-10, 105-12, 105-14, generally located on both sides of Delaware Road just north of Yuma Street.   

     VAFD 2017:08- Application by Hunter Darden, III, owner, for the creation of a Voluntary Agriculture and Forestal District.  The property is known as Tax PArcels 91-23 and 92-33, and abuts the western bank of the Nottoway River on the north side of Monroe Road south of its intersection with Delaware Road.   The properties are in the Newsoms Voting and Magisterial Districts. 


      VAFD 2017:09- Application by Hunter Darden III and Lawrence Brown, owners, for the creation of a Voluntary Agriculture and Forestal District.  The property is known as Tax Parcels 117-34, 117-44, 118-3, 118-5B, 118-4A, 117-46, and 117-36.  The property is generally located on the north and south sides of Riverdale Road west of its intersection with Smiths Ferry Road.  The properties are in the Newsoms Voting and Magisterial Districts.
