III.    PUBLIC HEARINGS 

         A.  VAFD 2017:02 - Day Core 1, Application by William Day, applicant, on  behalf of Sarah Day and William Day, owners, for the creation of a Voluntary Agriculture and Forestry District.  The property is known as Tax Parcels 86-20A and 86-27.   The property contains approximately 339.26 acres and is located on the east side of Porter House Road (Rte. 712) south of Cabin Pond Road (Rte. 702).   The property is in the Boykins Voting and Magisterial Districts.


        B.  VAFD 2017:03 - Day Core 2, Application by William Day, applicant, on  behalf of Sarah Day, owner, for the creation of a Voluntary Agriculture and Forestry District.  The property is known as Tax Parcels 2-9, 2-10, 2-10A, and 2-12.  The property contains approximately 476 acres in Southampton County and is located on the west side of Crumpler Road (Rte. 618) south of Old Blackwater Road (Rte. 621).  The property is in the Berlin-Ivor Voting and Magisterial Districts. 



     C.  VAFD 2017:04 - Day Core 3, Application by William Day, Carey's Bridge, LLC and Ira T. Barham, owners, for the creation of a Voluntary Agriculture and Forestry District.  The property is known as Tax Parcels 42-19, 42-13, 43-17A, 58-1, 57-65, 57-63, and 57-63-6.  The property contains 1,617.08 acres and is generally located between Popes Station Road (Rte. 609) and Carys Bridge Road (Rte. 653) between Raccoon Creek Drive and Indian Town Road (Rte. 651).  The property is in the Capron Voting and Magisterial Districts.

     D.  VAFD 2017:05 - Barham, Application by Ira Barham and William Day, owners, for the creation of a Voluntary Agriculture and Forestry District.  The property is known as Tax Parcels 57-14, 57-7, 57-6, 57-51, 57-36, 57-48, and 57-59.  The property contains approximately 545.7 acres and is generally located in the area of Indian Town Road (Rte. 651), Old Belfield Road (Rte. 652), Carys Bridge Road (Rte. 653), and Rawlings Road (Rte. 654).  The property is in the Capron Voting and Magisterial Districts.

  • Tract A - Application by Michael and Rebecca Drake and Westley Drake, owners, for the creation of a Voluntary Agriculture and Forestry District satellite area.  The property is known as Tax Parcels 102-22, 102-21A, 101-42, 101-63A, and 101-64.  The property contains approximately 649 acres and is located on the west side of Statesville Road both north and south of Cross Keys Road. 

  • Tract B - Application by Claude Drake, Jr., owner, for the creation of a Voluntary Agriculture and Forestry District core area.  The property is known as Tax Parcels 102-34, 102-36, and 102-62.  The property contains approximately 233 acres and is located on the east side of Sands Road just north of its intersection with Statesville Road.

  • Tract C - Application by Claude Drake Jr. and Alma Drake, owners, for the creation of a Voluntary Agriculture and Forestry District satellite area.   The property is known as Tax Parcel 102-69 and is located on both sides of Mary Hunt Road between Sands Road and Duke Road.

  • Tract D- Application by Lynda Updike, owner, for the creation of a Voluntary Agriculture and Forestry District satellite area.    The property is known as Tax Parcel 114-2 and 114-2A and is located on the east side of Rochelle Swamp Road between Statesville Road and Myrick Road

  • Tract E- Application by Lee John Updike, Lynda Updike, and Glenn Updike, owners, for the creation of a Voluntary Agriculture and Forestry District satellite area.  The property is known as Tax Parcels 114-33, 114-23, 113-16, 114-2 and 2A, 114-29H,29D, and 29G and is generally located in an area bounded by Statesville Road to the south and Cypress Swamp Road to the north, on both sides of Barnes Church Road.
