Southampton
County Seal
Michael
Long, a graphic artist at the Hampton Roads Planning District
Commission, designed the Striking Southampton County Seal. The
seal identifies the date of the founding of the county and draws
attention to our rich agricultural heritage with corn, peanuts,
cotton, and pine trees. The rising sun is symbolic of prosperity
and the seven stars represent the seven districts. The farm implements
are symbolic of the strong work ethic of our people.
