PRINCIPAL
PLANNER
Southampton County, VA. Salary $48,612 (+) benefits. Performs
professional planning work including development review
activities, grant writing, project studies, and presentations
to the Planning Commission, Board of Supervisors, and
citizen groups. Requires a thorough knowledge of the principles
and practices of planning, zoning and land development
and the ability to interpret and communicate ordinances
effectively. Serves as Deputy Zoning Administrator and
Deputy Subdivision Agent. Requires a bachelor’s
degree in planning or a related field and 5 years experience
as a practicing planner. Master’s degree and AICP
preferred. Must hold a valid driver’s license and
be willing to attend meetings held after regular business
