The American Red Cross and Southampton County are pleased to announce a blood drive for Courtland and surrounding communities on Wednesday, July 30, 2003 from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Southampton County Office Center, 26022 Administration Center Drive, Courtland.

Most healthy people who are at least 17 years old and who weigh 110 pounds are eligible for blood donation. Giving blood is easy, safe, and takes less than one hour. Your body contains 10 to 12 pints of blood and one donation is slightly less than a pint. After donating and enjoying refreshments in our canteen, you can resume normal activities with the exception of heavy lifting, which should be avoided for the next 24 hours.

Blood donations are especially important during the summer months when the vacation season makes collections much more difficult. Please give. Give the gift of life.
