Southampton
Sheriff's Office has a Dive Team with ten members. The divers
complete a three-week training program that includes classroom,
confined water training and also two days of open water
training. The dive teams primary responsibilities include:
- Water
searches for suspected drowning victims
- Recovery
of bodies from water
- Evidence
recovery
- Buoy
maintenance
The
dive team is made available to law enforcement agencies
in other jurisdictions.
