What do I need to obtain a dog tag?
A current rabies certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian, and $10.00 per dog.

Do I need to fill out an application to get a dog tag?
No, just mail the information listed above and the fee required to:

When is the dog tag required?
By January 31st of each year.

If I lose my dog tag, how much is a duplicate tag?
Duplicate Tags are $1.00

Is there a fine for not purchasing a dog tag?
Yes, the fine is determined by Animal Control (757) 653-2100.

I just got a puppy, when do I need a dog tag?
Tags are required by the time dogs are 4 months old.
